Last week I had the honor of presenting “Navigating Cultural Differences You Never Knew You Had” at the 2013 General Assembly (national convention) of the Unitarian Universalist Association in Louisville, KY. I was proud to be one of relatively few non-clergy chosen to present a program.
The session dealt with cultural differences that fly under our radar screens—gender, region, ancestry—anything other than nationality. Since the UUA has now posted a text version of my session online, this week’s blog simply links you to their page: http://www.uua.org/governance/leadership/communication/ga/287176.shtml which, in turn links you to the presentation text and session handout.
The session was 75 min., so this is longer than my usual blog article, but you will find it well worth the read.
As always, I’d love to hear about how you relate this article to your own personal experiences.
